The Story Of Me

This is Joshua Hood, born April 28 1993 in Killeen, Texas.  Josh moved to Florida at the age of 6 months, where he would grow up for the majority of his childhood and teenage life. At 16 Josh moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where his journey into adulthood would begin.
The first thing that strikes you about Josh is his eyes, brightly colored blue, as a clear sky on a sunny summer day. A hint of aspen green leaks its way through the cracks to reveal a soft gentle tone. Eyelashes long and lustful, a trait most woman strive their life to achieve, yet a natural gift that cause envy and astonishment around every corner.
This is a story about adapting to new surroundings. This is a story about a life full of hope and despair. This is a story about the recreation of dreams only to have them torn away by a vengeful hand. This is a story about change. This is a story of one’s journey across the universe in search of a purpose, a reason to move forward, and the opportunity to live.
Who is Joshua Hood? Josh is nothing more than a person, a human being trying to find belonging and true happiness. Josh is a southern boy, raised on manners and customs not many can understand unless they too have lived and been taught in these ways. Josh is a soul, a beacon of light, an adventurer leaving everything he knows behind to embark on the trek we call life to find the true meaning of what it is to live.
It is July 15, a summer day in Tampa, Florida. The sun is out, beaming rays of scolding heat down on the black pavement. The street seems to wave like water as the hot air rises. It is January 17, a winter day in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Snow falls to the ground like a worn out fighter in the 12th round. The car is completely enveloped in a white substance, unable to move, unable to perform its task. The beaches begin to fade away, the palm trees slowly disappear into the distance. Mountains begin to form as in the beginning of time, full, luscious forests began to sprout as the aspen leaves are no longer visible.
Of course what makes Josh interesting is not the change of scenery or lifestyle, not from scorching hot to blistering cold, from wavy ocean blues to towering mountains. What makes Josh interesting is his ability to adapt. The power to not only recognize the change, not only to accept the change, but the perseverance to change with it. Josh does not see loss or gain; there are no problems or solutions, only chance and opportunity. This is the story of Joshua Hood, and this is where it begins.
